On June 1 and 2, 2007, the Amana Marble Meet celebrated 30 years with exhibitors from 17 states covering 46 tables with marbles and marble-related items. Prior to the Saturday show, collectors filled almost 100 rooms with marbles for sale or trade. There was active room hopping throughout the days and evenings prior to the official start of the meet's activities. It was a great opportunity to visit with old marble friends and to meet new ones.
Friday evening's family-style banquet was the kick-off to the meet. Gary and Judy Huxford, show coordinators, planned a skit with an Ireland theme, many door prizes, and an interesting talk by Scott McBride on Chinese Checkers.
The show on Saturday ran from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and saw 200 collectors come through the door. The show was busy, and as a result, 30 tables are already reserved for next year's meet, which will take place on June 6 and 7, 2008 at the Amana Holiday Inn. The banquet will be held on Friday evening, June 6, and the show will again take place on Saturday, June 7.
